Welcome 2022

Its a New Year and New Opportunities.

I started off this year attending a movie premiere of the Righteous 12, a Chuck Williams film. It was exciting to get dressed up once again. I plan to wear lots of dressier outfits to celebrate the ending of the Pandemic. How will you celebrate it?

Spring has Sprung

Now that things are opening up pandemic wise and nature wise, it’s time to get into our closets and put together our spring wardrobes. If you have been living in sweats all year long, it’s time to blossom – let’s take a look and revisit using our clothing to help impact our mood du jour. Take a look at my Services menu item and see how I can help you get back in the Spring of Things with you clothing and colors. What’s in your closet?

Happy New You 2021

After the wild ride of 2020 it is time to freshen up our Image. I, for one, dressed up every single day during the 2020 even though most of the time I spent it alone at home. This kept me from feeling frustrated and depressed. Dressing up makes me feel good and helps me to get things done most of the time. I use clothing and colors to help heal and lift my moods when necessary, as well as to help me relax and wind down when that is necessary. For example, today I am wearing RED to give me a burst of energy to get motivated to work on my website and this blog. Wearing blue and/or purple help me to settle down. I encourage you to take the time to cast away the sweats and dress to express to lift your mood du jour. Need help with getting to know the real you and how to dress to express it? Visit the Services section of this website to see how I can help you. Email: diane@clothesencounters.org to talk and get more information.

The traditional colors of Christmas

If you have ever wondered how the traditional red and green colors of Christmas were decided I have this to offer after my research: Green represents the eternal life of Jesus Christ much like the evergreen trees remain green the whole winter long (hence they are called “ever” green); and red represents the blood shed by Jesus during his crucifixion. There you have it. I often wondered so decided to google it.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays 2020 is almost over

Hello everyone. I am so sorry I have been on a hiatus from the business of Clothes Encounters. I just decided to start up again. I am curious about how you fared with your dressing during COVID19. I, for one, dressed up every single day with full makeup and jewelry/accessories even when I was to stay home all day. It makes me FEEL better. I hope you didn’t live in sweats during the whole ordeal. Remember-clothing and colors have healing properties. Stay tuned for more posts in the near future. Please comment about your successes and what I can do to help you get back in the groove of dressing to express. Love, Diane

Happy Halloween and Day of the Dead Celebrations

It is no accident that the major color of Fall is Orange.  There is nothing prettier than New England’s Fall Foliage which is often dominated by the color Orange.  I love wearing Orange, especially in the Fall because it makes me feel happy and helps with Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) which occurs due to shorter hours of daylight occurring until December 21th the Winter Solstice.  How do you feel about the color orange?

SUMMER TIME AND THE LIVING IS EASY

It’s monsoon time in Tucson. AZ and we welcome the season of rain and beautiful thunder and lightning over the mountains and desert.  With our first storm on Saturday, the green in the desert has come to life.  WHAT COLOR BRINGS YOU TO LIFE?  Because I am a high energy person normally, I often use various shades of BLUE to bring an inner calmness to me.  Blue nurtures me because I am a WOOD in the theories of Chinese medicine.  What is your Causative Factor? If you want to learn more about your Causative Factor in Chinese medicine, start making individual consultations with me and learn how to dress to heal your spirit on a moment’s notice when you are out of balance. Please feel free to write on this blog.  I would love to hear about your go to color for healing.  Love, Diane

Happy St. Patrick’s Day and Happy Spring

Spring is here and the trees in the northeast will soon be sprouting their leaves (if it ever stops snowing there).  The weather here in Tucson is delightful now. Green will be the background for the blooming tulips and daffodils soon to be popping their heads.  It is a time of rebirth when the earth comes alive again after a long rest.  How do you dress to celebrate the season?  I simply love wearing flower prints and bright clear colors.    Come to one of my workshops and learn how to dress to express your truth.  April showers will be bringing May flowers as the saying goes.  Tell me how you feel about spring and wearing prints.  Prints help to scatter your energy outwardly. What’s in your closet?  Is it time for an update?  How about a shopping spree in your own closet?  I can help with that.  Just let me know.

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner!

Will you wear Red on Valentine’s Day?  Why or why not?  Do you have a story about Valentine’s Day that you would like to share here?  I was very hurt on Valentine’s Day when I was very young.  It soured me for many years around the holiday until a special friend gave me a pair of heart earrings after she heard my story.  While we no longer are friends, I will always remember her for that gesture of the heart.  I do love the color red and will more than likely wear it on Valentine’s Day.
